Leslie Yarmo received her BA in Theatre from UCLA, a certificate in French Language and Culture from the Sorbonne and a double Masters Degree in Costume and Set Design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Ms. Yarmo has lived primarily in Los Angeles, New York City and Rome, Italy where she has designed costumes for productions ranging Off-Broadway to Prime Time television (including the first 3 seasons of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) and worked on costumes for productions at the Florence Opera, Rome’s Teatro Argentina, Verona’s Teatro Romano and as a consultant on HBO’s Rome. In addition to her current teaching and design work at Salisbury University, Leslie has taught costume design and costume history it Rome’s Academia Italiana di Design and in Purchase College’s Theatre Design-Tech Conservatory. She has, in addition, developed a new program in Italy in collaboration with Rome’s Superintendent of Art and Culture fusing archaeology and production.
